2. Zero-Knowledge Data Storage (Local Storage)
All information you enter – such as nutrition logs, goals, and calculations – is stored exclusively within your browser's IndexedDB (Local Storage).No Backend: We do not operate a server for your personal user data.
No Accounts: You use the app anonymously, without registration.
Full Control: Your data remains under your control at all times. If you clear your browser cache or website data, all locally stored information will be permanently removed.
3. Optional Cloud Sync (End-to-End Encrypted)
You may optionally enable "Cloud Sync" to synchronize your data between devices using your own Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive account.End-to-End Encryption: Your data is encrypted on your device with a secret key chosen by you before being uploaded.
Zero-Knowledge: We do not have access to your secret key or your unencrypted data. If you lose your secret key, your synchronized data cannot be recovered.
Third-Party Providers: By using this feature, data is transmitted to the provider you selected (Google or Microsoft). The processing of this data is subject to the privacy policies of these providers.
4. Hosting, Server Logs, and Analytics
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare.Server Logs: When you access the website, Cloudflare automatically collects technical information (such as your IP address, browser type, and time of access) to ensure network and information security. This is a technical requirement to serve the website to you.
Web Analytics: To understand how our app is used and to improve its performance, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. This is a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies or local storage to track you. It only provides us with anonymous, aggregated data (like total page views and general country locations) and does not track you across other websites.
5. Third-Party Services & Cookies (Google AdSense)
To provide MacroInspector for free, we use Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits.Data Separation: Google has no access to your local nutrition logs or macro data. These remain strictly separated from advertising cookies.
Opt-Out: You can disable personalized advertising in the Google Ad Settings.
6. AI Content & Transparency
The food database and images were created or curated with the help of Google Gemini AI.Images: These are AI-generated and may contain a SynthID watermark.
